We’re so back!

After two weeks without Stonk Enjoyer in your inbox, I know you’re ready for some lighthearted market content to celebrate your mid-week moment.

I also hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving and want to let everyone know that I’m now a fan of Turkey- as long as it’s not dry.

Hindsight is 20/20 in 2024

This piece wreaks of regret as I missed out on some gains by not following through with some conviction I had coming out of the post-September slump.

I wrote a blog post about September being a historically-bad month for stock (and potential reasons why) and then proceeded to not take my own advice and “buy the dip.”

Now I have two major positions I had cash set aside to buy more shares and get my position to an even lot so I could start writing covered calls on them come November: $AMD and $UBER.

By not buying in September as planned, I missed aprox. 50% growth cumulatively.

But it happens, right?

Right.

I had believed that Uber would get added to the S&P 500 in Q1 2024 BUT…

I was wrong and it happened this week 🗿 

So anyways, here were some unbelievable events with major repercussions in the public markets:

What in the Sam (Altman) Heck Happened in the market lately?

1. The S&P 500 is now up +19% YTD

2. Sam Altman was booted from OpenAI and then rejoined all within a WILD week of tech-bro drama

3. Uber got added to the S&P 500

4. Bitcoin crossed $40k in price

A lot more but those were the standouts as I’ve been abroad in the beautiful country of India 🇮🇳
