What am I HODLing:
I talk about Sector Investing a lot in here.
For this piece, we are going to use the Global Industry Classification of Sectors or GICS. These are categories that group stocks based on what kind of business they run.
Then IB analysts try to convince you that they are tech stocks (jk).
There are 11 economic sectors:
Consumer Discretionary
Consumer Staples
Energy
Materials
Industrials
Healthcare
Financials
Information Technology
Real Estate
Communication Services
Utilities
Today we are doing some cutting-edge financial research: We are going to be describing industry sectors as Taylor Swift albums, and we’ll have the stocks to match the songs that prove it.
Another thought: If GICS Sectors were Taylor Swift albums… Then would Jerome Powell be Travis Kelce?
If you hate Taylor Swift, I’m sorry… I really had to do it. (And before you hit unsubscribe, I’m not a full-blown swiftie.)
I promise you’ll remember the sectors better after this.
